FILM

film: Welcome

Having recently studied documentary filmmaking at the University for the Creative Arts, I am currently working on developing & shooting independent film projects, both in England and Canada.

I have directed and produced two short documentaries, Fourteen (2016) and It Still Goes On (2017), focusing on observational films that showcase the ordinary life cycles of women and their daughters, as well as co-producing Maya (2017), an independent short film by Manav Gami, which was awarded as Semi Finalist at LA Cinefest 2017.

Areas of filmmaking that intrigue me include human interest stories that explore national identity, a sense of belonging and the relationship between humans and their environment. I am passionate about the idea of a sense of place and cultural identity, reflected in my love of travelling and living abroad.

Thru film and my experience in urban and rural regeneration, I am interested in discovering how to further understand and develop the relationship between humans and their environment, accepting that a film’s narrative can contribute to what is revealed to the audience about a place but ultimately, it has the ability to shape our values and sense of identity of the place depicted in the film.
